once again, more madden. last night, i played karl @ sarah nichols' house. well, she wasn't there. we were, though. i can't believe i lost 3 games. i suck. i did win the rushing drills, though. so i won a game on a technicality. all of the late night (if you can call them that) games were practice for the big madden tournament today that went on at the northgate best buy. i didn't enter. i couldn't. rule number one: purchase of madden 06 from the northgate best buy is required in order to participate. raspberries. i bought my copy @ southcenter. anyway, i went there to support karl and scope out the competition for when i enter next year.
the majority of the guys who showed up (like 12 entered, only 9 showed) were xbox users. sucks for guys like me who are accustomed to the game cube/ps2 configuration. it was all good though. a lot of laughs had. the semis and final was all blanchet. chris tinglestad, jake ortiz, and karl and then some other dude brought a good game. chris eventually won, though.
i never thought that i would spend 6.5 hours in one store. stupid best buy had 2 tv's set up for the tourney, but when just 9 showed, they decided that one tv would suffice. that's the only reason it took so long. that and the constant timeouts for controller problems.
PR5 was there, too. and i ran into erin carrigan from my poli sci course that i took earlier this year. i so will be entering this tournament next year for madden 07. maybe they'll take the advice of the people who sat and endured the seizure-enducing screen for way too long and make the plasma screen tv the grand prize instead of a wimpy ass $100 gift card and one of the posters that advertised the event.
i'm gonna go dump some gatorade on myself in preparation for next year's victory party.
